2014 saw 10-100 complete a comprehensive virtualization project for National Energy Services Ltd (NES), who provide end to end training and specialist software for Energy Assessors working in the energy performance marketplace.
Working closely with NES over a number of months, 10-100 designed and delivered a secure and scalable virtualized environment that transformed an ageing server base of around 18 physical servers into 3 ESX based host systems with centralized storage and plenty of scope for future expansion.
As well as bringing the technology up-to-date, the aim was also to assist in the reduction of power consumption for the server room, including the cooling aspect from the two air conditioning units currently in place. 10-100 began the project by engaging closely with the Systems and Infrastructure Manager and senior management to understand the commercial, technical and operational requirements of the solution. Through a consultative approach, 10-100 went on to present a solution to fit the brief in line with their budget and operational requirements. Chris Bridges says “10-100 are second to none in the field of building solutions to fit the multiple requirements and complexities of a modern day company. Through their diligence and expertise they have not only delivered us a reliable, modern and scalable solution, but also managed to reduce power consumption across the business of around 20%. The project has also reducing the cooling requirement sufficiently enough to enable the need for only one of the existing air conditioning units to remain in use and at a far reduced rate than it was previously.”
10-100 continues to support NES through its managed service offering by providing managed hosting, bandwidth, continuous monitoring, reporting and ongoing technical advice to the business.
